Frameless Hardware Company (FHC) announced the launch of its Citadel Series Security Doors, a new product line engineered to meet the growing demand for enhanced safety and protection in commercial and institutional projects.

Product details

Designed to address today’s evolving security challenges, the Citadel Series delivers increased resistance to forced entry while maintaining clean, modern aesthetics. The system is engineered for applications where additional layers of protection are critical, without sacrificing transparency, design flexibility or performance.

The Citadel Series is available in medium and wide stile thermally broken configurations, allowing designers and specifiers to tailor the system to both performance requirements and design intent. Each door is tested to ASTM F3561-22 forced-entry resistance requirements and constructed with a durable aluminum-framed door utilizing forced-ingress glazing, comprised of tempered, laminated insulating glass units. The door construction is enhanced by deep penetration internal corner welds, heavy-duty corner block assembly and steel-reinforced vertical and horizontal members.

The new Citadel Series has been tested in compliance with:

  • AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440-08
  • ASTM F3561-22
  • ANSI/NFRC 100-200
  • ANSI/NFRC 200-2023
  • NFRC 500-2017

To ensure integration across building envelopes, matching sidelites and storefront framing are also available, providing a cohesive solution for secure entryways and façades.

Ideal applications include retail storefronts, educational facilities and other environments requiring elevated security measures. The Citadel Series is engineered to help protect against a wide range of real-world threats, including smash-and-grab incidents, break-ins, looting, violent public demonstrations and active shooter scenarios—addressing the realities of modern urban security concerns.
