Guardian Glass Partners on Video Exploring Bird-friendly Design
Guardian Glass recently partnered with BirdLife International to share “Designing Safer Skies,” an episode in the Global Flyways series created by BirdLife International and Content With Purpose.
Global Flyways is a digital series that follows the journeys of migratory birds through the people working across the world to protect them. It aims to raise awareness and inspire support for stronger, better coordinated protection of migratory birds and their habitats across borders, according to its website.
In “Designing Safer Skies,” Heidi Trudell, Guardian Glass bird friendly specialist, regional technical advisor; and Danielle Tyson, Guardian Glass commercial sales development manager, examine how the built environment is working to help reduce bird-glass collisions.
The Maine Audubon’s visitor center offers a first look at Bird1st Mirage, the next evolution of Guardian Glass bird-friendly glass solutions, expected to launch in 2027. Fabricator Thompson Innovative Glass and glazier Sierra Pacific Windows partnered with Guardian to complete the project.
“Guardian Glass believes collaboration is essential to addressing complex challenges such as bird collisions with buildings,” says Trudell. “Our partnership with BirdLife International helps raise awareness and highlights opportunities for the building industry to contribute to solutions.”
