Assembly performance digital tool

FramingFactor

Vitro Architectural Glass' FramingFactor is a digital tool that allows users to evaluate Total Assembly Performance (TAP) of insulating glass units (IGUs) in architects’ future builds.

FramingFactor also includes a custom sizing feature designed to accommodate unique project dimensions and performance metrics such as Visible Light Transmittance (VLT), Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) and winter U-value.

Powered by Vitro’s proprietary product data and performance metrics from the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC), FramingFactor delivers project-specific calculations, which eliminates the need for manual entry of center-of-glass values, streamlining the process and reducing complexity. By referencing the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) map embedded in the tool, users can ensure regional compliance while meeting the project's energy efficiency targets.

Vitro officials say that FramingFactor is a helpful guide for early-stage planning and should not be relied upon for precise energy calculations or official submissions.
