Viracon is introducing a glass identification number on all Viracon insulating glass units with its Viracon Thermal Spacer. The new Viracon Identification Number (VIN) is a 24-digit number that will be discreetly laser printed into every piece of glass fabricated by Viracon. The VIN 24-digits includes 8 digits that are a unique code, providing detailed information about each and every insulating glass unit with VTS such as its thickness, size, substrate, print, heat treatment, manufacture date, and more. With this system, if something happens to a glass unit, such as damage, the building owner can replace the insulating glass unit with the exact match based on Viracon’s VIN system.
