See You at GlassBuild America 2022!

Gathering together for a celebration of the glass industry

It’s that time of year once again! Glass folks from all around the country will be gathering to see what the latest news and trends in the glass industry are. Naturally, there will be new technologies and products. Of course, there will be educational events. A general celebration of the glass industry in all its glory will be on-tap.

Without question, having the conference in Las Vegas will make it especially entertaining. There will be tons of interesting things to see and do in town after the events. Las Vegas is my old stomping grounds and it is a weird wonderful place, that’s for sure!

A Glass Nerd’s Paradise

There is nothing like going to GlassBuild America to inspire creativity. There will be ideas presented that may challenge conventional thinking. Maybe there is a tool or piece of equipment that you have been thinking about for a long time, but just haven’t got around to picking it up. There may even be a product that you have never heard of before that could revolutionize the way to do your job. One thing’s for sure – the exhibitors will be putting their best stuff out there. A glass nerd’s paradise…

‘Meeting’ for the first time

I have to admit that my favorite part of GlassBuild is seeing old friends and meeting new ones. For me that’s what the whole thing is all about. These days it is so common to meet people on-line... In fact, it’s possible to interact with people for long periods of time without ever actually meeting in person.

GlassBuild America is where I tend to run into many of those people for the first time. There will be opportunities to grab a drink or a meal and compare notes. For me that priceless. I’m always learning new stuff and trying to pass it along to my friends in the industry, and I love it.

If you’re on the fence about going this year, let me offer you a gentle nudge. Even if you think there is nothing to gain from going, or you have preconceived notions about what it is all about. You may be surprised. Maybe you think you can’t afford the time away from your shop. It may just be the single best investment you can make in your business life. A little inspiration may reignite your passion for glass and send you in a whole new direction! I know that it has for me, and I am truly grateful. If you see me there be sure to say “hello.”
