The Business Council of NY Visits Crystal Window & Doors for Manufacturers’ Week
Crystal Window & Door Systems was selected by The Business Council of New York as one of 11 stops on its week-long 2026 Manufacturers’ Week bus tour of major manufacturers across the state. On Monday, October 5, The Business Council met at Crystal’s Queens, New York, headquarters and factory where Business Council President Heather Mulligan and other leaders of the organization were welcomed by Crystal executives to learn more about the company and tour its large facility.
“As a new member of The New York Business Council, Crystal was pleased to be part of this year’s Manufacturers’ Week celebrations,” says Crystal CEO Steve Chen. “The bus tour helps shine a spotlight on the companies that make products in our great state for the nation and the world, and it shows what a significant impact New York manufacturers make on the economy.”
About the bus tour and its goals
The bus tour, held by The Business Council every year, makes stops throughout the state at various manufacturer locations to connect with employees, see production operations, and discuss issues impacting New York manufacturers. This year’s tour includes 11 facilities in 10 cities across 1,000 miles of New York State. Observations and insights learned help shape The Business Council’s policy advocacy for the state’s manufacturers.
Joining representatives of The Business Council and executives at Crystal Windows were State Senator Toby Stavisky and Assembly Member Sam Berger. Visitors to Crystal saw the complete window fabrication operation from vinyl extrusion and glass cutting to window assembly and packaging for shipment. Following the tour, Crystal executives presented an overview of current projects and new products in development, along with a discussion of challenges manufacturers face in New York.
“Crystal is one of the largest manufacturers operating in New York City,” says Chen. “For over 35 years, our dedicated employees have worked hard to make this company the success it is today, and we were glad to show this operation to The Business Council.”
The Business Council of New York State represents more than 3,000 member companies, many of which are manufacturers, that employ over 1.2 million New Yorkers. The organization has long served as an advocate for employers in the state’s political and policy-making arenas.
