Mid-Atlantic Glass Association Board Member Sydney W. Stearman Passes Away

Mid-Atlantic Glass Association longtime board member and supporter, Sydney W. Stearman, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025.

Before retiring, Stearman owned Commercial Glass, Inc., located in Maryland. He served on the Board of Directors for 29 years.

"His dedication to our mission and his unwavering support of our community left an indelible mark. We have lost not only a visionary leader but a dear friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working alongside him," say association officials. 

Stearman is survived by his wife, Phyllis Denniberg Stearman; his children, Beth (Jake Kriger), Miriam, Amy (Rodrick) Wood, and Eric; his sister-in-law, Nancy; and his cherished grandchildren, Jenna, Jolie, Joseph, and Hanna.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Torchinsky Hebrew Funeral Home in Washington, DC, followed by interment at King David Memorial Gardens. In honor of Sydney’s spirit of generosity, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of one's choosing.
