Tim Moore, a pioneering force and respected leader in the glass industry, died on September 2 at the age of 70. With a career spanning more than four decades, Moore was widely regarded as a technical juggernaut whose innovations and contributions transformed the landscape of glass fabrication. As Director of Technical Services, he played a critical role in advancing technologies that are now foundational across the industry. Moore's legacy is not only etched into the processes and products that define modern glass products but also in the countless engineers, colleagues and professionals he mentored and inspired.

Moore was the 2023 recipient of the National Glass Association's C.G. Carney Award, which is given in honor of longstanding commitment to the association and to the glass and glazing industry.

"Tim Moore had a vast reach within the glass and glazing industry. His kindness and generosity for sharing his knowledge were tremendous for standardization of the industry. He's been one of my go-to people and always took the time to answer any question or to help me understand something. In my 25 years of knowing him, he’s always been a quiet advocate for educational best practices for raising the bar for the industry. He was instrumental in helping to create the Engineering Standards Manual and many other technical best practices. He will be missed," says NGATechnical Services and Advocacy Director Urmilla Sowell.

Those who worked closely with him knew him as Bubba or Timmy Jo. Moore's entertainment, besides his family, was satisfying his curiosity reading technical and scientific literature. He is survived by his wife Theresa, daughters Rebecca and Rachel, grandchildren and a global network of peers and friends.
