Smart Glazier Software staff identified a critical need—a digital solution to streamline the glazier-to-fabricator ordering process. “This solution had to be a win-win. It needed to be user-friendly and readily available for glaziers, while also empowering fabricators to offer it to their clients,” says Sam Frankland, sales and marketing manager.
Smart Glazier Connect is an online e-commerce platform designed for fabricators to provide glaziers with electronic design, quoting and ordering capabilities. Glaziers can log in and design and order flat glass products—IG units, mirrors, tabletops, showers, etc.—directly from the fabricator through a personalized, user-friendly interface, eliminating the need for hand-drawn orders or complex CAD software, says Frankland. SGC integrates with major industry software and generates fabrication-ready outputs, including DXF files for cutting tables and CNC machines.
The SGC e-commerce platform saves both the fabricator and the glazier time by eliminating manual data entry and the back-and-forth with the quoting team. It also aims to reduce errors and streamline the workflow between glaziers and glass fabricators, says Frankland. This streamlining, along with centralized order information in one place, empowers leaner teams to manage workloads more effectively, even amidst potential staff shortages.
