Dawson Launches New Thermally Broken Entrance Series

Dawson Transcend Entrance

Dawson Metal Co. launched its newest product for commercial entrances, the Transcend Series thermally broken entrances.

Transcend Series doors feature a reinforced polyamide strip fixed between the inside and outside aluminum profiles, creating an insulating barrier within the frame that reduces heat conduction through the door’s metal framing.

What Dawson says

"We are proud to bring this industry-leading entrance series, which represents the culmination of our decades of experience in architectural entrance design and manufacturing, to market,” says David Dawson, CEO and president, Dawson Metal Company. “Transcend Series entrances are a game-changer for the industry, and we are confident that our customers will be delighted with its performance and aesthetics. We look forward to seeing it grace the entrances of buildings all over the world."

About the Transcend Series

The Transcend Series features thermally broken technology that prevents deterioration caused by condensation and the lowest U-value for energy loss. Tested at a rate of 0.19 cubic foot per minute, below the industry standard rate of 1 cubic foot per minute, Transcend boasts thermal efficiency, with a Thermal Simulation Report Rate of 0.45 BTU/hour*ft^2F°. Its efficiency for water infiltration is zero leakage at a 1.0 pounds per square foot pressure differential at over 300 gallons per hour.

The series offers improved heating and cooling costs with a fully-glazed door and frame using 1-inch low-emissivity insulating glass. Its overall NFRC U-value greatly surpasses the current energy requirement of 0.77, and its higher condensation resistance factor reduces interior frost build-up.

Transcend Series thermally broken entrances meet or exceed all ASTM standards while remaining customizable. Its innovative and functional construction aids building performance, while its fully-assembled construction saves time and money on installation. Transcend Doors also come with an industry-leading manufacturer's warranty, with swing doors offering a five-year warranty and balanced doors offering a 10-year warranty.
