Proposed Xinyi Float Plant Garners Environmental Concerns from Local Official

According to Guelph Today, Derrick Thomson, chief administrative officer for the City of Guelph, expressed concerns in a letter sent to his counterpart for the township regarding the effects of the proposed 2-million-dollar float plant, to be built by Xinyi Glass Holdings. Among his concerns are the effects to the city’s water supply, which he says could be impacted by the new plant’s location near one of Guelph’s main wells, according to the reporting.
