SmartSource AE Supports Glass Manufacturers and Glaziers

SmartSource AE, a newly launched construction‑focused outsourcing firm, is aiming to help glass and glazing manufacturers and subcontractors address fluctuating workloads paired with limited drafting and estimating capacity.

“Most manufacturers and glaziers don’t struggle because they lack work,” says Diana San Diego, Co‑Founder and Managing Partner. “They struggle because capacity swings disrupt production and preconstruction workflows. When things slow down, teams are underutilized. When bid volume or fabrication ramps up, drafting and estimating bottlenecks hit fast. SmartSource AE was built to stabilize that cycle.”

About SmartSource AE

SmartSource AE takes a disciplined approach to offshoring technical work by providing fully managed remote teams in the Philippines with architecture or engineering backgrounds and hands‑on construction experience. Each team is built specifically for the client and operates as a true extension of the U.S.-based team.

Services include shop and fabrication drawings, material take‑offs, estimating, submittals and sales and technical support—functions that often pull project managers, engineers, and sales teams away from higher‑value work. Teams are fully managed by SmartSource AE, allowing clients to focus on customers, schedules, and growth without the overhead of recruiting or day‑to‑day supervision.

About the founders

The founders bring more than 40 years of combined experience across U.S. construction manufacturing, engineering, and project delivery, along with over 15 years of experience building and leading offshore technical teams in the Philippines.

Diana San Diego spent nearly two decades at a leading U.S. specialty glass and framing manufacturer, where she helped scale operations across sales, marketing, and technical support. Roy San Diego, P.E., spent 20 years at a global engineering firm managing multidisciplinary teams and large‑scale technical workflows supporting complex U.S. construction projects.

“Our goal isn’t to replace in‑house teams,” says Roy San Diego, P.E., Co‑Founder and Managing Partner. “It’s to protect them by providing reliable drafting and estimating capacity that allows glass and glazing teams to scale workload without sacrificing quality or burning out their core staff.”
