Best Glass or Glass Component | Pilkington SuperWhite

Nominating company: Pilkington North America

Superwhite clear glass

Pilkington Superwhite is an extra-clear, low-iron glass developed to achieve a high level of transparency, resulting in a more neutral and refined appearance. The product addresses a growing demand for higher visual quality in commercial interiors. Standard glass introduces a greenish tint that can alter appearance of colors, which limits applications such as retail displays, museums or premium interiors.

What sets it apart is its ability to maintain exceptional clarity even at greater thicknesses, while also preserving the true colors of objects seen through it. This makes it particularly valuable in applications where visual accuracy and aesthetics are critical. In addition, its compatibility with decorative processes such as digital printing and enameling makes it suitable for a variety of applications without compromising visual quality.

It is produced using carefully selected raw materials and controlled manufacturing processes to ensure high light transmission and minimal color distortion. The product is available in 8 millimeters, 10 mm and 12 mm, with 6 mm available on request. It can be processed in various ways, including acid-etching, enameling, and digital printing, making it suitable for both functional and decorative uses. Common applications include furniture, shelving, kitchen surfaces, retail displays and high-end interior architectural elements

Pilkington Superwhite addresses this by offering a clearer and more neutral glass.
